Assignment 1: New View
Reflection #1
To me, the hardest part of this project was trying to find the perfect shot that wasn't just a snap shot. Trying to take pictures from different angles was pretty hard if you wanted the picture to come out good, yet creative. The easiest was editing the pictures and trying to make it look as cool as you wanted, with as much exposure or brightness you wanted. I learned that, no matter what color or shade the picture is. It only works if you take a good enough picture. My favorite part of this whole project was just being able to take pictures then just manipulate them with whatever editing tool I wanted. I actually do like all my pictures too, i think they were all creatively taken and edited in any way possible.
That's just me of course.
That's just me of course.
Assignment 2: Chair
Reflection #2
What does this mean? It doesn't really have a story behind it, but at the same time it does. It's trying to describe how, most people feel, in a way. Lonely, vulnerable, lost, scared. Well, to me at least. I decided to use this photo because I really like how the chair is just in the middle of lockers. Nothing else, just the chair and some lockers. While editing the photo on Photo Raw, I worked with the exposure a little bit, the vibrance, and worked a little bit with the white balance. Taking a picture of a chair seems easy right? Maybe, if you just want a simple picture, 1 2 3 snap. But we had to find a creative and distinct way of taking this picture. Then afterwards, you still need to find a way to edit the picture to make it look even better. So it was hard, but then it wasn't, so you get the picture ya knnnoooowwww. All in all, I did kind of enjoy this, it wasn't a regular assignment, it was different. It takes time, patients and creativity trying to find the perfect yet creative picture of a chair. I really do like my picture, I'm not necessarily sure I LOVE it, but I do like what I took and how it ended up.
Assignment 3Lines and Shapes
Reflection #3
Honestly, my best photo for lines would be the third one, "The side of a water fountain'. Why? I'm not sure, I like how it looks with the shot being focused only on the way the lines, line up to one another. It's interesting. My best photo for shapes would definitely have to be the locker; number six. I think it's interesting the way there's nothing else BUT that in the picture. No whole locker, no other locker around. Just simply that. I focused more on clarity while using Camera Raw, the shot would definitely not look like that if I haven't used more of it. I do love my work, i don't think most people would know or understand what the picture is. You would have to think really hard into thinking what you're looking at. I liked, actually thinking about the picture. Usually if i see something cool, I find a way to make it cooler by taking the picture in a distinct way with out thinking about it. This time, I had to think about shapes and lines, and how to make THEM distinct.
