For so long, Colorado has been running fine, no horrendous natural disasters, nothing. A peaceful home, suddenly turned into a mild high underwater disaster. For a week, it rained causally, no big deal. Then near the end of the week, all hell broke loose. The water wouldn’t stop. It kept coming, countless amount of hours of downpour and nothing more. That’s when things went downhill. What used to be small side rivers that passed through town turned into lakes that took everything in their path along with them. Colorado was flooding. Not the whole state, a serious amount of towns were left unharmed, yet there were the few that were completely wiped away. Boulder for example, was one of the worst. The water just went out of control and took down buildings, homes, schools, everything. I was fortunate enough to not have power outage, or flooding in my house. The flooding “river” that came about in Longmont was so close to my house but it didn’t reach us. I live on a hill so I was pretty safe. I was scared. Honestly, twelve years living in Colorado and nothing this horrendous has ever occurred. I prayed every night that those who lost their homes, or were evacuated, or in any way were affected by this flood were okay. I couldn’t think of what they were going through. Not being able to get anything but the nearest and most important things, having to leave everything behind. It must be tragic. Through out the week I managed to stay with my family. It was a little hectic but having my nephews around wasn’t so bad. They kept me entertained. I was also able to leave my house and go visit friends, make sure they were okay. No one I know personally was affected too badly by the flood, or the rain for that matter. But to those who were, I’m hoping they’ve found a temporary home, or nothing too serious happened. I guess at this point, we have to stay together, not just as a community but as a state all together. Colorado, Stay Strong. ![]() Connor Franta: Reppin' O2L Connor Franta is a well known YouTube star, and everyone knows what he feels about photography. He is part of a Collab Channel on YouTube named Our2ndLife with six of his best friends. In this photograph, Connor is throwing up the group's sign (no it's not a gang. We're a family). This picture means a lot to me because that sign, is the reason of who I am. That sign has so much meaning to me, because for the past year, this group of boys have literally helped through day and night. Their videos are the highlight of my life. Monday through Saturday, a new video is uploaded from the boy who is assigned that day. Connor is Monday. I like this image because it's in front of an ocean. Well, Oceans go around the world. Never ending. Like how the bond between the guys and the fans. Our bond is strong, close, and never ending. The way he edited just made it look incredible. The rocks, the way you see waves crashing into each other and into the rocks. He just looks like he could take over the world. Like WE, us, together. The fandom and them. Standing strong, helping each other when in need. It's just beauty. O2L isn't part of my life, it IS my life. ![]() Fun
This photo was taken by me, and I really like it. It's not really something I thought about. I was just bored and decided to take a photo. It's simply the word FUN and combat boots. I think it's funny, when someone says the word fun, you assume colors and bright and just things that give off good vibes. Not in this one. It's simply the word fun. It shows no emotion, but you know that I had fun while taking it. I just like this photo and thought it was creative I didn't exactly have meaning behind it. Yet I still thought it was Advanced Photo Worthy. |
